Tea by the Sea fundraising pack
Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust

After Thea’s work on Shine the fundraising newspaper Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust approached Solent with a brief to create a charity fundraising pack for their Tea by the Sea fundraising campaign which already had an existing brand in place.

Inspired by the success of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign – Tea by the Sea is a fundraising event and campaign encouraging people to host a fundraising tea party in aid of the Ellen Macarthur Cancer Trust. 

The brief was to create a fundraising pack that participants could mail order once they had signed up to host their ownTea by the Sea tea party. The pack was to Include a folder to hold a foldout collection tin, illustrated recipe cards, an invitation booklet, sponsorship forms, posters to fill out for the event, little branded flags on cocktail sticks and a cut-out-yourself cake topping bunting banner.

The artistic direction was to create a set of appealing, friendly and distinctively nautical (of course!) illustrations to support the existing brand – based on the back of the work done in Shine. These formed a heavily illustrative basis for the design of the fundraising pack to inspire and engage the participants in the campaign.

Project managing – alongside the illustration and design, Thea worked closely on this project with the client working to see out their vision. The result is one of her favourite projects and shows the strength of her style applied across the colour pack injecting the fun of the campaign.
